In 2022, BSBI offered research cooperation both to universities and research institutes through a Research Grant competition program (HiPe) awarded by BSBI to produce relevant recommendations to the Bank of Indonesia.

Three research topics were offered by BSBI: Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Green Central Bank, and Sharia Banking. The three topics were chosen because these issues are relevant on a national or global scale. The CDBC topic focuses on the analysis of CDBC design that is in line with the architecture of the payment systems and monetary systems in Indonesia. Whereas the Green Central Bank research topic focuses on the formulation of the central bank that is in line with the concepts of the green economy. Lastly, the Sharia Banking topic focuses on the analysis of its stability amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and its trend of digitalization.

Out of the three topics, the Trisakti Governance Centre LPPM of Universitas Trisakti successfully won the grant on the Green Central Banking formulation research topic.
