The rapid development of science and technology has brought the world to the sequence era of industrial revolution 4.0. On Wednesday, 24 February 2021, the Department of Electrical Engineering (JTE) held a Webinar on the topic of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics with the guest speaker Mr. Eka Maulana, ST, MT, M.Eng, from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya. The event was attended by students, lecturers, and JTE alumni.

Along with the rapid development of science and technology, the world has arrived in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This makes industrial processes not only limited to computer-based automation, but starting to move towards complex cyber-physical systems involving the Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Cognitive Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. Responding to this increasingly complex challenge, a combination of multidisciplinary knowledge is a necessity to create innovations that is relevant in this era. Robotics is a scientific discipline that was born from a combination of several fields of science such as mechanical systems, electronics, and computers. On the other hand, artificial intelligence as a computer science discipline has broad applications as a base for decision or policy making.

In this webinar, sharing and discussion are carried out as well as an explanation of the close relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. With this activity, participants are expected to gain insight and knowledge about artificial intelligence-based robotics technology (Artificial Intelligence). Apart from that, it is hoped that with this webinar, students from the USAKTI Electrical Engineering Department will be able to obtain general provisions and knowledge about robotics,  that can be used for further research.
