Sustainable cities are a strategic vision to address various challenges and urban problems. Sustainable urban development should be an agenda under national and global policy directions. The technocratic draft of the 2020-2024 RPJMN includes sustainable development as one of the mainstreaming of national development for the next five years, which consists of the goals of maintaining the sustainability of the community’s economic and social life, maintaining environmental quality, and increasing inclusive development and implementation of governance capable of maintaining quality improvement life from one generation to the next. It is in line with the Indonesian government’s commitment to achieving the global target of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
