Internal Grant

Research at Universitas Trisakti can be categorized into internal research funded by Universitas Trisakti and external research funded by sources outside Universitas Trisakti.

1. External research broadly comprises projects funded by government grants—primarily from the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia)—and applied research conducted for government agencies (such as the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia and other Indonesian ministries), Pertamina, and international organizations (such as the WHO).
2. Internal research includes:
   • Faculty Flagship Research (PUF), which is monodisciplinary in nature
   • University-level research managed by a research institute that is multi- or interdisciplinary in nature, comprising:
     • Novice Lecturer Research (PDP)
     • International Collaborative Research
     • Patent-Potential Innovation Research (PIPP)
     • Center for Studies Research (PPS)

This funding is expected to serve as a stimulus for faculty members at Universitas Trisakti to build and enhance their research track records. A strong research track record directly contributes to the advancement of a lecturer’s academic rank as a researcher, while simultaneously increasing the chances of Universitas Trisakti researchers securing national competitive research grants and decentralization grants administered by Kemendikbud and BRIN. Furthermore, a solid research track record is often essential for establishing research partnerships with various domestic and international institutions.

The conduct of internal research adheres to National Research Quality Standards, which have been adapted into Universitas Trisakti’s own Research Quality Standards. Consequently, guidelines for research activities—along with other related guidelines—have been developed . In general, these guidelines represent a revision of the 2010 Research Guidelines. This revision aligns with evolving needs to achieve specific research-related targets. A fundamental aspect of this revision is the requirement that the topic of every research proposal must align with the National Research Master Plan (RIRN) 2017–2045—as incorporated into Universitas Trisakti’s Research Roadmap (RMP)—which encompasses four research focus areas: Green Energy, Green Urban Environment, Green Society , and Green Healthy Life , as outlined in Universitas Trisakti’s Research Master Plan.

To ensure research quality, a single lecturer is not permitted to serve as the principal investigator for two or more research projects within the same fiscal or academic year. Research proposals must be prepared within the timeframe specified by the Research Institute; submitted proposals are first reviewed by the Faculty Research and Community Service Board (DRPMF) before being formally and systematically forwarded to the Research Institute. Subsequently, proposals submitted to the Research Institute undergo review by the University Research and Community Service Board (DRPMU) to obtain funding approval. Researchers who secure funding are required to execute a Research Contract to establish a mutual agreement regarding the rights and obligations of both parties—namely, the researcher and the Research Institute, which manages research activities at Trisakti University.

Study programs and faculties are granted the autonomy to conduct substantive selection and determine which proposals to submit for funding; however, this must be accompanied by selection and monitoring-evaluation processes that meet research quality standards. Monitoring and evaluation by competent reviewers are essential to ensure research quality is accountable and aligned with national research standards.

If a research team leader fails to complete research activities in accordance with the proposal by the end of the academic year, they are prohibited from submitting a new research proposal—whether as a leader or a team member—in the following academic year. Conversely, the best Final Research Reports and research outputs have the opportunity to receive awards during the Universitas Trisakti Anniversary (Dies Natalis) ceremony. These awards are intended to serve as a stimulus to enhance the research performance of the faculty members.

Lecturers and students may conduct joint research aligned with the lecturer research roadmap , which refers to the research roadmaps of both Universitas Trisakti and the faculty. The alignment of lecturer and student research with the research roadmap can be monitored and evaluated, and the results utilized to enhance research relevance and the academic development of the study program.
