Intellectual Property Rights is a term used to refer to a bundle of exclusive rights given to a creator who produces a work of thought with a specific form and nature that fits into certain criteria according to applicable laws and regulations. The term Intellectual Property Rights is also commonly abbreviated as IPR.

The term IPR, or Hak Kekayaan Intelektual (HKI) in the standard and official Indonesian term, is used in various laws and regulations. It is also used in the naming for state technical units entrusted with responsibility for administering the granting and management system of IPR, namely the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights.
