Jakarta, July 4, 2026 – Universitas Trisakti, through its Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), held the send-off ceremony for the Village-based Independent Enterprise and Applied Technology (KUM-ITT) field program for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year at the university’s Building M. The theme for the 2026 KUM-ITT program is “Optimizing Sustainable Local Potential through Appropriate Technology Innovation and Strengthening Disaster Mitigation towards Impactful Villages.” KUM-ITT is an interdisciplinary elective course designed to contribute to the realization of Village SDGs. The event began with a program report by Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Director of LPPM Universitas Trisakti. Subsequently, participants received a briefing, and a symbolic donning of the alma mater jacket was performed for participant representatives by Dr. Ir. Muhammad Burhanuddinnur, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Vice Rector I of Universitas Trisakti. Following the send-off, participants traveled to Ciambar District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, to carry out field activities. During the event, Dr. Maria Immaculata Ririk Winandari, S.T., M.T., Deputy Director of Community Service (PKM) at LPPM Universitas Trisakti, explained the KUM-ITT activities and formally entrusted the students to the District Head (Camat), accompanied by Ir. Wawan Kurniawan, M.T., Head of the KUM-ITT Center. Welcoming remarks and the formal acceptance of the 2026 KUM-ITT participants were delivered by the Acting District Head of Ciambar, Heri, S.IP. The event continued with expressions of appreciation from the Nagrak Sector Police Chief (Kapolsek), First Inspector (Iptu) Subit Sederajat, S.H., regarding the presence of Universitas Trisakti students in the area. The 2026 Village KUM-ITT activities related to disaster mitigation include: training on innovative processing of diaper waste into concrete blocks; earthquake disaster mitigation training; eco-brick production; utilizing plastic bottle waste for handicrafts; composting; and the construction of sustainable waste bins.
