On Saturday, September 10, 2022, the Strategic Study Bureau of the Student Association of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti, held a public discussion labelled Medical Usakti Policy Studies (MUPS), which raised the theme “Legalization of Medical Cannabis in Medical and Legal Glasses (LIGAMENTUM)”. This activity was carried out offline at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Trisakti, and online via Zoom Meeting which was attended by ± 290 participants.

On the occasion of this public discussion, the Strategic Study Bureau of the Faculty of Medicine’s Student Association at Universitas Trisakti invited three speakers in relation to the theme of the discussion, including:

1. Narcotics Regulation in Indonesia and its Relationship with Medical Law by Prof. dr. Zubairi Djoerban, Sp.PD-KHOM (Advisory Board of Covid 19 Task Force PB IDI)

2. The Condition of Marijuana in Indonesia and its Urgency for Treatment by dr. Yoseph Yody, SH, MHKes (Member of the National Narcotics Agency’s Health Administration)

3. What Should We Know About Cerebral Palsy? by dr. Firda Fairuza, Sp.A (Pediatrician and Lecturer of FK Usakti’s Paediatric Sciences)

The event ended with an interactive question and answer session moderated by Dr. Taufik Supriyana Trisaputra.

This public discussion is organized openly and held annually, with the hope that this event can provide an overview of the status of marijuana in law and its urgency in medicine in Indonesia.
